Antitrust/Competition
- In re NFL’s Sunday Ticket Antitrust Litigation – Sam was part of a trial team representing residential and commercial subscriber plaintiffs alleging that the National Football League (“NFL”) and its teams violated the antitrust laws through media-rights agreements that suppressed the output of, and raised the price for, out-of-market game telecasts. At the conclusion of a four-week trial, the jury returned a verdict for the plaintiffs and awarded $4.7 billion in damages.
- In re Da Vinci Surgical Robot Antitrust Litigation – proposed class action alleging that Intuitive Surgical engages in an anticompetitive scheme pursuant to which it ties the purchase or lease of its da Vinci surgical robot to the additional purchase of da Vinci maintenance and repair services, including the repair and replacement of the surgical system’s EndoWrists.
- In Re: RealPage, Inc., Rental Software Antitrust Litigation – Hausfeld serves as co-lead counsel in the federal antitrust class action against RealPage, Inc. and several of their property management clients, alleging that the Defendants, some of the largest owners and managers of rental real estate in the United States, conspired to use RealPage’s so-called “revenue management” service to set rental prices and restrict the supply of available rental units in major metropolitan areas across the United States.
Technology & Data Breach
- In re Wawa, Inc. Data Security Litigation – proposed class of financial institutions alleging the convenience-store chain’s negligence resulted in a massive data breach, compromising more than 30 million payment cards used at up to 850 store locations on the East Coast.
